Swim Hastings — privacy

This policy covers the swimhastings.uk website, the Swim Hastings iPhone app, and the Swim Hastings Android app, which is this website in a thin wrapper and collects nothing of its own.

What we store — only if you subscribe to alerts

• Browser alerts (the bell button): the push endpoint URL and two encryption keys your browser creates, plus which beaches you chose. No name, number or email — we have no idea who a subscription belongs to. The endpoint is stored hashed in our delivery logs, and the record is deleted when you unsubscribe or when your browser's push service tells us the subscription is gone.
• iPhone app alerts: the push token Apple gives the app, plus which beaches you chose. No name, number or email, so we can't tell whose phone a token belongs to. The token is stored hashed in our delivery logs, and the record is deleted when you turn alerts off in the app or when Apple tells us the token no longer works (for example, after the app is deleted).
• Telegram bot: your chat id and beach choices. /unsubscribe clears the choices so nothing more is sent.
• WhatsApp pilot: your phone number, added by hand at your request. Ask and it is removed.

The iPhone app

The app reads the same public data as this website, from swimhastings.uk. The beaches you pick for your list and your widgets are kept on your phone and never sent to us, unless you turn on alerts for them (above). The app has no analytics and no visitor counting. Its beach maps are drawn by Apple's MapKit, and walking directions open in Apple Maps.

What we never do

No accounts. No cookies. No ads. No tracking or profiling. Nothing is sold or shared. Visitor counting is by GoatCounter — no cookies, no personal data collected.
